Outdoor Adventurous Activities
Wednesday 27th April our KS1 pupils visited Meadowfield sports centre to take part in a rage of team activities including and outdoor treasure hunt where they had to solve clues and complete related tasks. Even though the weather was not dry enough for all of the activities to be held outside the event was enjoyed by all children.

Well done to everyone.

Quicksticks Hockey Festival, Tuesday 2nd October 2015
Class 3 have been taking part in hockey coaching every Friday this half term. To put their skills into practice, we took two teams, one from year 4 and one from year 5 to Maiden Castle to take part in the Quicksticks Hockey festival. The children played extremely well, losing only 2 of their 8 games. As you can see from the photos, we all had an enjoyable afternoon.

Cross Country

It was incredibly wet and muddy but we survived the School Sports Partnership Cross Country event on Wednesday 7th October! Well done to all of KS2 for your fantastic efforts during the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 races. I was so proud of your behaviour, sense of fun and your resilience. Thank you for supporting and encouraging each other and thank you to all the parents who braved the weather to support our school.

Football Report

The boys started with a game against Sherburn Village school. The final score was 0 – 1. Next they played Cassop, and the game ended in a goal-less draw. The winning team in the third game was Murton St. Joseph’s with a resounding 5 – 0 victory!

All the boys played enthusiastically and they are hoping for some wins in the near future.

Skipping School Festival Success!

Last Wednesday, 18th March, Class 3 went to Framwellgate School to take part in the Skipping Festival. It was great fun. First we did our individual skills. Some of them were Face to Face Pairs, Keep the Pot Boiling, Side Swing and Pretzels. Then we did the Big Rope. Next we did our Skip Dance and we came first in that event. We also won gold, silver and bronze in some of the individual skipping and soon we found out that we had come first overall in the competition after competing against 6 other schools with a score of 698 points.

This is the second year in a row that Class 3 at Esh C of E Primary has been the outright winners. Will the next Class 3 be able to make it a hat-trick?
