Collective Worship at Esh Church of England Primary School is at the heart of our school community.
Collective Worship at Esh Church of England is vibrant, inclusive, inspirational and spiritually enriching. It provides a strong foundation for lifelong spiritual and moral development.
Our School Christian Vision is ‘Building Together’ based on the story of the Wise and Foolish Builders from Matthew 7:24-27. Jesus talks about listening to and obeying his teaching. Through Collective Worship we listen to and reflect upon the word of God, and the teachings of Jesus, in order to have that firm and solid foundation.
Collective Worship provides a safe, sacred and inclusive space where children and adults gather daily to reflect, grow spiritually, and deepen their understanding of our Christian Values, faith, the Bible, God’s Word and the teachings of Jesus. Worship practices nurture a sense of belonging, respect, and reverence, forming a firm foundation for our pupils’ spiritual development.
Collective Worship at Esh Church of England provides a strong link to church and community. We have strong links to St. Michael and All Angels’ Esh. Our Vicar is Rev Michael Peers and he is a much valued member of our school community. He supports our school in a variety of ways, helping the whole school community to flourish. He is Vice Chair of Governors with a particular role in RE, Collective Worship and SIAMS. He leads Collective Worship at least once per week both in school and for our special church services, he participates in RE lessons, for example, when children are finding out about Baptism or the Church as a special place of worship for Christians. He has assisted with our Y5 National Younger Leaders Groups and he also leads the service in our Messy Church sessions.
