SIAMS Inspection Report

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the National Society’s framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). SIAMS inspection focuses on the effect that the Christian ethos of the church school has on the children and young people who attend it. The National Society’s Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework is used in all Section 48 inspections of Church of England schools and in the denominational inspection of academies.

Year 1 Phonics Screening Test 2018

This national test is administered in June and tests the phonics knowledge of the children – their ability to decode and read words, rather than their understanding. Children who do not reach the required standard are tested again at the end of Year 2.

In May 2016, in both KS1 and KS2, assessment changed from levels to a judgement against whether children were working at Age Related Expectations (ARE). For KS2, this included a scaled score, comparing our school with all schools nationally. A scaled score of 100 means that a child has reached ARE.
